Beam, Eye, yanno, Biblical

I've got a request for a partail on my novel in short stories. How should the letter I send along with it read? Should it echo the original query? The letter requesting the partail is poorly written and filled with gramatical errors and typo's, should I include it with the partail? Well?

You mean typos like: typo's, partail and gramatical?

I'd say count your blessings, send your partial, and get your head out of your ....crapometer.

Did I miss the announcement for the worst query letter every written competition? Because I can do a LOT worse than that!

You know what's scarier than all those misspellings? "My novel in short stories." *shiver*

Surely, this is a leg-pull.

I don't THINK it's a leg pull. I think it's a leg rip-off. As in he yanked so hard he just ripped it off. I mean, THAT'S AWFUL!

On the flipside of this, if someone who has such deplorable spelling and grammar usage can get a "partail" request, then that means there's A LOT of hope for my full. Ha! Ahem, sorry. Had to make myself feel better for a moment.

Sonarbabe, on the other hand we don't know from what TYPE of agent/publisher he/she got the request from...If it's not a joke, that is.

I'd think request-a-partial letters are boilerplate.

If the letter he received contained typos even he can recognize ... is it not possible he is in the toils of a scammer?

Spelling and grammar can be fixed. If you have a great story and the background to tell it credibly, you've gone a long way toward getting your book in front of readers.
