Crap Stats-closing in on Finished!

That's it for tonight.
When I stare at something for five minutes and think "what does this mean" it's time to pack it in. And don't think this means you. I was staring at a take out menu.

We've got 118 left to go.
We'll be done Saturday.

There will be a short hiatus for yanno...work.

Then back to pages on the first weekend.

Regular email that's been in the holding pen for three weeks will go up betwixt those two times.

The sooner this insanity is over the better! I have many more stupid questions to pose to Ms. Snark, and this business about writing is getting in the way!!

You're fantastic, Miss Snark. Truly. I've learned so much about what agents look for---hell, there were so many comments of "if I read this on the back of a book, I'd buy it" or "I'd want to read more about xyz" that I now have a much better idea of the specific pieces of info people need to have presented to them in order to make decisions. And that's what this whole exercise boils down to---what do we, as writers, need to provide in our paperwork that enables agents/eds to want to see more. Brava, Miss S. Many thanks.

Yikes -- you are truly deluged!

This has gone way past insane. 100 hooks would have been more than fair and more than plenty.

I rarely look at the blog anymore because I am tiring of seeing the repetitive poor writing.

Go ahead and call me a nitwit, but I don't know what yanno means.

There were a lot of good hooks this time. Note to self: wait until the last minute next time and gain the experience of what works and what doesn't before submitting.

Another source for... hooks.

Unshelved does a hook in every Sundy's strip:

Dear Miss Snark,

You rejected my entry for the crapometer. When you wrote that a "vegetarian burrito that comes to life and turns serial killer" is too stupid and far-fetched and mixes too many genres, what did you mean by that? And would it be easier to swallow if I made it a "chicken" burrito? How about a Fajita? Please get back to me. I'm worried.

I gotta tell you. I've loved every single one. And I even missed the ones that didn't make it through, you know, like the ones that got detained, deferred, detonated, destroyed, deyapped, dekilled, delocated, denitwitted etc...

Frankly, I wish there were 500 more to read. But then I'm a sadist. MS gets no sympathy from me. A big thank you maybe, qualified by do this again in February, at the latest, but...

I don't comment much, because I've loved them all. What does that tell you?

Of course I view these hooks from their starting point and not their ending point. The point at which they were actually created-- which in my view, is from the heart.

Silly me.
